Mechanical Tree Work

AGDJ Brown Contractors is a family-owned company in Thetford established in 2001. From the very beginning, our emphasis was on high standards of service and quality workmanship. This ideal remains at the heart of the company's philosophy today.

Our mechanical tree work includes everything from tree pollarding to site clearance, we can provide you with a professional forestry service at a competitive price. We are fully insured, provide free estimates and are available 24/7 for emergency services.

The mechanical tree prototype consists of 12 columns, each capable of removing at least 1 metric ton of carbon dioxide per day. When the tree extends its 'branches,' the white sorbent-filled disks in the 'leaves'—made from an ion-exchange resin (IER) and polyvinyl chloride (the binding agent)—absorb the carbon dioxide.

Our tree surgery services:

Stump Removal

AGDJ Brown Forestry and Biomass Contractors are proud to do all Stump removal.

The process includes a full assessment to decide whether we will be able to use manual tools to cut lateral roots, whether we will be disrupting any drainage, electrical or gas services, neighbouring trees and fitting out equipment through smaller alleyways or paths. We then decide the depth of the stump grind to ensure the tree won't grow back.

We then backfill the former tree stump hole left behind with the sawdust generated from the grinding waste which will form mulch and take to a natural colour over a period of time.

If you require stump grinding services to lay a patio of any kind the area must be pummelled down and compressed with soil to reduce the ground dropping over time.

Tree Reports

AGDJ Brown Forestry Contractors can provide a BS5837 Tree Survey on request. These British Standard surveys involve the collection of tree measurements and other tree data for the formulation of plans and reports that are used in the design and planning process. These range from single house extensions to larger development sites.

We use the British Standard BS5837:2012 to ensure full compliance as this is what planning departments will use to assess whether trees are to be protected or if their removal is appropriate and permissible.

Included in our BS5837 Tree Surveys are data relating to the tree's species, canopy dimensions (including height and spread), tree trunk diameter, life stage and general observations on the tree's condition and management history, if applicable.

We will also categorise trees using an updated variation of the BS5837 categorisation method. Every tree we assess will be categorised as “A”, “B”, “C” or “U” based on the tree's arboriculture and amenity value. Our many years of experience in tree surveys assist us in this process to product relevant reports for each survey.

AGDJ Brown Forestry Contractors are a team of fully qualified and trained tree surgeons with professional tree inspection qualifications. We use the latest CAD software to produce reports and cover Norfolk and Suffolk. Ask us for more details on any of our tree services.
